Abstract从物理上论述了自由电子激光(FEL)的工作原理和主要工作模式。从技术难点角度介绍了FEL赖以发展的三大技术支柱:加速器、扭轨磁铁和光腔。从工作波长区、可调谐性、功率水平等方面评述了FEL的目前水平。最后介绍了FEL的发展动向和广阔的应用前景。
