Stability of dibaryon (Xi(0)Xi(-)) in the quasiparticle model

AbstractIn this work, we investigate the properties of the dibaryon (Xi(0)Xi(-)) within the framework of the quasiparticle model. The binding energy, the radius as well as the mean lifetime of (Xi(0)Xi(-)) are calculated. It is found that the dibaryon (Xi(0)Xi(-)) is metastable against strong and weak processes. The dependence of the stability of the strangelets on the model parameters is discussed. These results suggest that the (Xi(0)Xi(-)) dibaryon is a good candidate for being observed experimentally.
