AbstractA hydrodynamics + hadronic rescattering model is used to simulate Au+Au collisions at 200 GeV and a Cooper-Frye method is adopted for hadronization. The effect of hadronic rescattering on elliptic flow V-2 in 20-40% Au+Au collisions at 200 GeV has been investigated. It is found that the hadronic rescattering can suppress elliptic flow V-2 and makes an asymmetric system in momentum space tend to be less anisotropic. The suppression effect becomes weak with increasing transverse momentum. In addition, the effect of hadronic rescattering on transverse momentum spectra and anisotropy of hadronic coordinate space is presented.
