Abstract | The iron-containing atmospheric particulate matter collected from a tunnel and downtown in Shanghai were analyzed by Mossbauer spectroscopy; their chemical composition, size of particles and concentration were determined. X-ray absorption near-edge structure measurements and the nuclear microprobes were performed to supplement the identification of the chemical compositions of iron compounds. In addition, the transformation of the iron compound in air was discussed. |
